Ed Davies joined Q Corp as a Senior Data Scientist in 2015. For years he has been wrangling big data for organizations large and small, in health care and in other industries. Ed is a native Oregonian and studied economics and mathematics at The University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, Ed enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and snowshoeing all over the Pacific Northwest.
Variation in health care quality and cost outcomes frequently occur between geographic areas but there is little understanding of why these variations take place. To gain a better understanding, a five-year study involving four states will work to identify the characteristics of a region or state that influence health quality and cost.
Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) is a brief, powerful, contextual behavioral intervention approach rooted in the three principles of acceptance, mindfulness and values based change. This two-day workshop is designed to help participants learn basic FACT assessment and intervention skills. Workshop facilitators will provide an overview of evidence supporting brief interventions, including the reasons patients prefer them.
