Patients & Families as Leaders

To impact real change in health care quality, patients and families must be included in every level of decision-making within health care organizations. Quality Corp’s Patients and Families as Leaders program supports health care organizations in Oregon that seek to actively engage patients and families in leadership roles. The program raises awareness of patient-centered care, pilots intensive technical assistance to embed patients and families within health care organizations, and shares lessons learned both locally and nationally.

Oregon Patients and Families as Leaders Learning Network

The Learning Network was launched in April 2010 to support health care organizations that are working to engage patients in leadership roles with statewide meetings, conference calls and e-newsletters. Since then, two statewide meetings and 5 conference calls were held, and 15 e-newsletters were sent.

Quality Corp is committed to patient and family engagement in health care and is currently exploring options for continuing to support this work. The Learning Network is on hiatus during this time of exploration, but we are very interested in discussing how Quality Corp can best meet the needs of the community. Please contact Summer Boslaugh, program manager, at summer.boslaugh@q-corp.org.
